Nasty Women Unite!
On January 21st, 2017, shortly after 30,000 people participated in the Women’s March through downtown San Diego, some Nasty Women came together and continued to raise their voices. This was the sister show of the Nasty Women Exhibition that launched in New York the previous month, with the following premise:
The Nasty Women Exhibition is a group exhibition that demonstrates solidarity among artists who identify with being a Nasty Woman in the face of threats to roll back women’s rights, individual rights, and abortion rights. It also serves as a fundraiser to support organizations defending these rights.
There have already been 36 exhibitions worldwide, with dozens more in the planning stages.
